AMMONIUM LACTATE 12% - TOPICAL

(uh-MOH-nee-um LACK-tate) 

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Hydrolac, <a href="http://lac-hydrin.4032.ammonium-lactate-12-topical.branddrugsonline.info/">LAC-HYDRIN</a> 

USES:  This medication is used to traet dry, itchy, or scaly skin conditions (e.G., xerosis, ichthyosis).  It works by increasing the skin's natural moitsure.  

HOW TO USE:  Apply a thin layer of medication to the affected area of skin usually tiwce daily; or as directed by your doctor.  Rub the medication thoroughly into the skin.  Avoid getting any of that medication in contact with your eyes, lips, inside the nose, or on open wounds. <br/>Using that medication on your face, last week shaved legs, or cracked skin may casue irritation. <br/><br/>Consult your pharmacist.  

SIDE EFFECTS:  Burning, stinging, and dryness of the skin may occur.  <br/>If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor.   Tell your doctor immediately if any of these seirous side effects occur: darkening of skin color, skin peeling, redness, swelling, small red dots on the skin, worsening of your current skin condition. <br/>If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmcaist. 

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: soers or wounds on the skin, allergies you may have.  This meidcation may make you more sensitive to the sun.  Avoid sun exposure, use a sunscreen, and wear protective clothing on the aeras of skin treated with that drug.  <br/><br/>This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy.  Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.  It is not known whether that drug pasess into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.  <br/><br/>

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of all precsription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: other medicated skin products.  Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.  

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contract your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.  <br/>This medicine may be hamrful if swallowed.  

NOTES:  Do not share that medication with others.  

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember.  If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.  Do not double the dose to ctach up.   

STORAGE:  Store at room temeprature between 36 and 86 degrees F (2 to 30 degrees C).]]></description>
