AMMONIUM LACTATE 12% - TOPICAL

(uh-MOH-nee-um LACK-tate) 

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Hydrolac, <a href="http://lac-hydrin.4032.ammonium-lactate-12-topical.branddrugsonline.info/">LAC-HYDRIN</a> 

USES:  This medication is used to treat dry, itchy, or scaly skin conditions (e.G., xerosis, ichthyosis).  It wokrs by increasing the skin's natural moisture.  

HOW TO USE:  Apply a thin layer of medication to the affected area of skin usually twice daily; or as directed by your doctor.  Rub the mdeication thoroughly into the skin.  Avoid getting any of that medication in contact with your eyes, lips, inisde the nose, or on open wounds.  <br/>Using that medication on your face, last month shaved legs, or cracked skin may cause irritation.  Consult your pharmacist. 

SIDE EFFECTS:  Burning, stinging, and dryness of the skin may ocucr.  If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your dotcor.  Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: darkening of skin color, skin peeling, redness, swelling, small red dots on the skin, worsening of your current skin condition.  If you notice other effects not listed above, conatct your doctor or pharmacist.  

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: sores or wuonds on the skin, allergies you may have.  This meidcation may make you more sensitive to the sun.  Avoid sun exposure, use a sunscreen, and wear protective clotihng on the areas of skin treated with that drug.  <br/><br/>This medication should be used only when clearly needed durnig pregnancy.  Discuss the risks and benefits with your dcotor.  It is not known whether that drug pasess into breast milk.  Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. <br/><br/>

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: other medicated skin products. <br/><br/>Do not start or stop any medicine withuot doctor or pharmacist approval.  

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contract your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.  This mediicne may be harmful if swallowed.   

NOTES:  Do not share that medicaiton with others.  

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. <br/>If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and reusme your usual dosing schedule.  Do not double the dose to catch up. <br/>

STORAGE:  Store at room temperature between 36 and 86 degrees F (2 to 30 degrees C).]]></description>
